Macmillan Cancer Support provides a vast amount of information for people living with cancer. Hundreds of high quality publications are available in print and via their excellent website (www.macmillan.org.uk) and we are proud to announce that MIUK is now producing medical illustrations for inclusion in the charity’s output.
Earlier this year MIUK was one of a number of medical illustrators invited by Macmillan Cancer Support to respond to a tender for the provision of a regular service. We accepted the invitation and our medical artist Anne Wadmore produced a number of illustrations according to the briefs provided.
We are very pleased that her work was judged to be a good fit with the Macmillan brand and that we were subsequently asked to be a regular supplier. Anne has already produced several illustrations and we look forward to a long and productive relationship with this important client.
Anne is a hugely experienced medical artist with extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as well a sound understanding of medical and surgical processes. Subject matter she has worked on recently ranges from the musculature of the entire body to the complex chemical interactions that take place at an intracellular level.
Anne is based in our premises at Charing Cross Hospital and is always pleased to discuss new commissions of any size. She is also MIUK’s primary contact for the production of graphic material including scientific posters, reports and information leaflets.
The work that Anne is doing is not MIUK’s only link with Macmillan Cancer Support. MIUK photographer Amanda Parry is a Frontline Volunteer working evenings on the charity’s telephone advice line. She and colleague Annabel King, another MIUK photographer have also fundraised for Macmillan, participating in the Prudential RIDE London and also holding a bake sale in the foyer of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital!
